Kansas Fall Gardening | Kansas City Gardening Supply
Fall is a perfect time for replacing or planting new shrubs or perennials. The plants have plenty of time to get rooted in before winter. When planting, it is always good to improve existing soil in your landscape if you have a high quantity of clay in your soil.
Seedbed Preparation | Kansas City Landscaping Supplies
Get your seedbeds ready now-scratch up the surface and remove any thatch or debris. Top 2″ of soil should be loose. Sow seed with spreader or by hand. Keep seed moist. For optimum results use sphagnum peat moss to cover seed. Spread approximately ΒΌ” thick. Use new lawn starter over seed on same day and water in. Fertilizing seed will help seed germinate faster and grow in thicker. Never let your seed dry out. Water at least twice a day approximately 5 -10 minutes a day.
